Jane's Bio

Jane was born in 1949 in Oroville, California, and is a fourth generation native of Butte County.  She attended Notre Dame School, Chico High and Pleasant Valley High and finally CSU Chico where she was elected the Associated Student's President in 1973.  She then joined the family business, Dolan Appraisals, and has been a small business owner for over 20 years.  First elected in 1978, Jane has tirelessly represented Butte County residents for 32 years. 

Jane is married to Bob Mulholland, a Vietnam Veteran of the 101st Airborne Division ('67-'68), who was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart.  Jane is also the Aunt of Sarah, Jessica, Andy, Patrick, Timothy, Erin, Alexandra, Mauricio and Jaxon.

Current Public Service

Supervisor, Butte County, District 2.

  • District 2 is west and south Chico: Sierra Nevada Brewery to the south, downtown and Chico State University, the entrance to lower Bidwell Park and Enloe Hospital, the Town of Nord to the north and the Sacramento River to the west. Neighborhoods include Chapman-Mulberry, Barber, Chico Avenues (west), Bell-Muir, West Chico and the Nord Avenue area.   Here is the official map adopted by the Board of Supervisors creating the present supervisorial districts:

  • Provided significant assistance to the creation of the Chapman-Mulberry Neighborhood Plan, and provides leadership to improve the infrastructure of all neighborhoods.

  • Strong, consistent support for preservation of agricultural lands in the county and the author and advocate of the Chico Area Greenline.

  •  Active and contributing member of numerous local and state-wide task forces, commissions, and working groups.

Summary of Public Service Experience:

Supervisor, Second District, County of Butte.  Elected to a four-year term in 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, and 2006.  Served as Board Chair in 1983, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1999, 2000 and 2001. Served as Vice Chair in 2008 and 2009.
